ONEHOPE Wine – the popular wine brand that integrates giving back into every bottle – announced that its award-winning wine is set to debut two exclusive wines in 187ml format, available for purchase during in-flight service on all domestic Virgin America flights. Half of profits from the sales on Virgin America flights will be donated to help educate women on their risk of heart disease.
ONEHOPE Wine is produced in collaboration with Rob Mondavi, Jr. and has been awarded over 100 medals in local, national and international wine competitions. ONEHOPE has also donated over $1.4 million to partner nonprofits, honoring their commitment to making a difference 365 days a year and becoming one of the most recognizable wine brands in the United States today.
«We went through a unique selection process in Napa Valley with our consultant winemaker, Rob Mondavi, Jr., where we tasted four custom blends of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay respectively. All of the options were crafted for a passenger’s palate at 35,000 feet up; conscious of the fact that often times wines that taste great on the ground can taste thinner and more acidic in the air. The final blends for both the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon were chosen unanimously by both Virgin and ONEHOPE and were more fruit forward, softer, and a little bolder than our standard portfolio,» stated Jake Kloberdanz, CEO of ONEHOPE. «We’re confident that our customers will appreciate the thought and effort we put into these two exclusive offerings and, even more importantly, enjoy and savor the finished wine.»
Together, ONEHOPE and Virgin America are proud to debut these two exclusive wines:
«This is the first time that we’ve had the opportunity to be part of the wine process from tasting varietals to assisting in the design of the label. We are excited to debut ONEHOPE Wine to our guests and help give back to the larger community with half of proceeds benefitting heart health,» said Rob Gallagher, Manager, Catering and Onboard Service at Virgin America.
This June, both wines will join Virgin America’s new seasonal menus that feature an assortment of sustainable and fresh ingredients, including local fruits and vegetables, premium meats, and artisan breads. The airline’s focus on a fresh and diverse range of menu options has helped the airline capture the «Best Domestic Airline for Food» award in Travel + Leisure 2014 World’s Best Awards as well being recognized for «Notable In-Flight Dining» in SAVEUR Culinary Travel Awards for both First Class and Main Cabin.
