«The Lady in Pink» Fancy Intense Purple-Pink Diamond
Originating in Africa, the 7.17-carat Purple-Pink diamond (VVS2) is classified by the GIA as a Type IIa diamond, which means it ranks in the top 2 percent of all gem diamonds in the world. It is set in ring of platinum and 18K gold, and flanked by two heart-shaped white diamonds of 1.50 carats each (E, F color).

In a September 24, 2015 statement, Christie’s International Head of Jewelry Rahul Kadakia described the current market for Fancy Color Diamonds as: «…a time when great gems are mirroring prices achieved for masterpieces in the world of fine art. Collectors are looking to jewels as savvy investments that are both beautiful and can appreciate considerably in value over a relatively short period of time.»
