Mango Launches its Watch Face for Android Wear
The Spanish clothing company customized the smartwatch face and is revolutionizing its fashion approach to adapt it to the digital age.
Now that smartphones and tablets have firmly established their place in society, a new wave of wearable technology raises endless possibilities in the clothing and accessories sector. The watch has steadfastly held the throne among such electronic fashion devices for the time being.
While 2014 gave us the Gear Fit Tous for Samsung, now it’s Mango’s turn to apply its design and trend expertise to the world of interactive attire. The fact of the matter is that mobile devices account for more than 30% of the company’s turnover stemming from e-commerce, which, in turn, represents nearly 10% of their total turnover.
Having already launched applications for Apple TV, Apple Watch and its ever-innovative Scan & Shop for Android and iOS mobile devices, Mango is now unveiling the Mango Watch Face for Android Wear. The company has developed two timeless and minimalist designs available in black and white that promise to add a stylish twist to any outfit of the day.
At the same time, the brand will be bolstering its current approach to fast fashion. As of February, just in time for their new 2016 spring-summer collection, Mango will be supplying its 2,700 stores in 109 countries with new clothes every 15 days, putting it on par with competitors. They’ll be publishing content on their digital platforms (web, social media and apps) in order to immediately spread the word on their latest products and do away with their printed catalog, of which they had been publishing 22 million copies per year.
