To celebrate the global launch of its Mozambican rubies, Gemfields has launched a new short film starring brand ambassador Mila Kunis and directed by renowned art photographer Jeff Burton. The film explores the mystery and allure of rubies, one of the most precious and revered gemstones in the world.

Playing with light refractions, shimmering jewellery, and a distant glimpse of the ocean, the film features Mila Kunis wearing bespoke pieces of jewellery set with Mozambican rubies, created by five global designers: Fabergé, Georg Jensen, Spinelli Kilcollin, Miiori and Gyan, Jaipur. In the film, Mila wears the Fabergé Gypsy Cuff, set with 2235 Mozambican rubies and 1572 diamonds on 18 carat white gold.

The ruby is one of the most historically significant coloured gemstones and has accumulated a host of legends over the centuries. A symbol of passion, wealth and success, the ruby was a favoured gemstone of royalty and aristocracy and regarded by many as endowed with extraordinary powers. The Gemfields Montepuez ruby mine in Mozambique is now thought to be one of the largest and most important sources of responsibly sourced rubies in the world today.
