Canadians have an unquenchable thirst for scotch, with category growth outpacing all other spirits by 5.9 per cent. As demand continues to rise, Beam Suntory Inc. (Beam Suntory), the world’s third-largest spirits company, introduces its newly combined portfolio of premium scotches to Canadians, which brings together award-winning Bowmore and Auchentoshan brands from Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd. and Beam’s iconic Laphroaig, the number one selling Islay single malt scotch in the world. This growing family of scotch brands also includes Glen Garioch and McClelland’s, offering a distinctive range of flavours for Canadian consumers.
«There is tremendous diversity in scotch, which is why it’s such an exciting spirit and appeals to so many Canadians, whether they are seasoned scotch aficionados, just beginning their journey or maybe fall somewhere in between,» says Deepti Gurkar, Senior Brand Manager, Luxury Portfolio, Beam Suntory Canada. «Whether you’re looking to sip on a peated malt from Islay or on something more progressive – like Auchentoshan’s American Oak, a smooth and versatile scotch that’s similar to a bourbon, Beam Suntory’s diverse portfolio of premium scotches offers a taste for everyone.»
The single malt, with its legion of devotees, is hailed as the bastion of scotch whisky, and is experiencing double-digit growth (11.9 per cent), outpacing the rest of the whisky category.«There’s a flourishing subculture of ardent single malt fans out there, which plays a huge role within our newly combined portfolio,» says Gurkar. «Bringing together award-winning single malts from Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Laphroaig, means that we’re welcoming each brand’s diverse yet passionate fans into one big, happy, loud and opinionated, single malt-loving family.»
Each brand within the Beam Suntory premium scotch family brings a unique history, sense of place and dedication to craft and innovation. Together, they offer a compelling and diverse taste of Scotland.
