Edugates exits beta and launches in the UK, focusing on streamlining how a student can book language courses, from the best schools worldwide. The business will first target the UK, Spanish, French and Italian markets, promoting English Courses in London as the primary focus. Prior to the company launch, any students that were not fortunate enough to be familiar with or have been recommended a given language school, would have to look for a course via independent offline local agencies, in much the same way as you would book a flight and hotel, a decade ago.

Alternatively research could be carried out online but the effort involved in comparing school ratings, course types and prices would be extremely time consuming. Edugates shows just how easy it is to purchase a language course at an accredited school online, as well as accommodation and flights too! As well as language course bookings, Edugates also promises to provide students with the proper support and assistance, with the aim being to make the entire experience of learning a new language abroad, as simple as booking a holiday.

The company already solidified partnerships with over 40 schools in London alone, including the likes of Stafford House (Cambridge Education Group), Malvern House, and St Giles International, amongst many other reputable language schools.

Backed by an undisclosed angel investor, the company’s goal is to «promote the ability to learn a new language via industry accredited organisations and expand learning horizons by living the language’s city and culture, whether for personal or professional development», according to Edugates’ founder. Edugates launch campaign, together with Edgware Academy, is currently offering a 4 week experience in London for two friends, which includes a language course, with flights and accommodation included.
