Clayton Homes, a builder of manufactured and modular houses, gives homebuyers the option to create their own custom floor plans. In keeping with that theme, the company is offering customers a variety of customizable options and design tips for closets to maximize space and give them the custom dream closet they’ve always desired.
Clayton Homes currently offers potential homebuyers a number of options to create the custom closet that best suits their needs such as shelving, seating and layout choices. However, the company is taking it a step further by now providing design tips, courtesy of Clayton Homes design expert, Susan Yoder.
«Vertical and horizontal space need to be balanced,» Yoder said. «Too much of one or the other doesn’t maximize your space to its fullest potential. It is time and money well spent to create the best use of this very personal space.»
To achieve this harmony between vertical and horizontal spaces, Clayton Homes offers customers options like built-in cubbies and seating, custom shelving and vanity stations to create breaks in visual space, in addition to providing storage and utility space. Purposeful organizing can save time and reduce frustration when looking for specific items.
«Cubbies can de-clutter your closet by giving you a place to organize and store items that are harder to hang effectively such as belts, jewelry, scarves and gloves,» Yoder said. «Full length mirrors increase the size of the space visually and reflect light back into the closet.»
However, closet design isn’t solely about what’s on the walls. Clayton Homes also offers built-in ironing boards, plush carpeting and shoe racks to keep the floor as neat and aesthetically pleasing as the walls. «People typically think of walls when it comes to closets, but don’t forget about the floor,» Yoder said. «If you’re not organizing the floor of your closet, then you’re not utilizing the space as well as you could be.»
