The Cannes Yachting Festival
Cannes Boat Show brings together today to five hundred boats in one of the most important exhibitions of the sector.
Each year in September, the Cannes Yachting Festival welcomes the main players in the world of yachting. Exhibitors, visitors, owners and future buyers come together to explore the 2 ports of the French Riviera: «Le Vieux Port» and «The Port Pierre Canto». With nearly 550 boats on display in water and on land, among them one hundred world premieres, come and discover the only in water show in Europe. Enjoy the unique opportunity to take the helm of a luxury yacht and feel the pleasure of sailing through sea trials.
With almost 500 boats on display, the Vieux Port presents a preview of the finest new models created by the most famous international shipyards. Find in water motor yachts and sailing boats, monohulls and multihulls from 10 to 50 meters and smaller boats on land. Ashore, you will find exhibitors dedicated to services and equipment.
Catamarans are designed to answer boaters’ needs regarding living space on board a boat. It is very often that we see monohull owners invest in catamarans whereas the opposite is rare due to how difficult it is to switch back once you have had a taste of the comfort and ease of navigation that the catamaran offers. Motor powered catamarans have more and more market share all the whilst offering comfort and autonomy. The Yachting Festival has a dedicated space for exhibiting these multihull sail or motor boats.
There exists a number of small or medium (under 15 m) boat categories. The habitable boats allow long duration navigation whereas the day boats are used for sea outings or nautical activities that are only limited to one day. Two architectures coexist: the classic rigid hull and the Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB). The RIB have had a spur in development these last couple of years and are well appreciated because they remain accessible, robust and efficient.
