The Most Impressive Suite in Sweden
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm is carrying out an extensive renovation of all rooms and suites in the Burmanska Palace part of the hotel this year.
Located on the top floor, is the Princess Lilian suite – Grand Hôtel’s premier suite, an expansive 330 square metres in size. Inaugurated in 2006, the Princess Lilian Suite now has a completely new interior following the renovation. Refurbishment of the other rooms and suites in the Burmanska Palace are done in contemporary overtones in a classical framework.
The exclusively-appointed Princess Lilian suite, with a spacious 330 square meters, is one of a kind. The suite houses a roomy lounge area, two bedrooms, a spa section with new exercise equipment, a private cinema, a kitchen and two terraces with spectacular views of the waterfront and the Royal Palace. Following the refurbishment, this magnificent space meets even higher standards of international exclusivity.
All floors in the suite have been replaced with parquet flooring, with the exception of the bedrooms, which now have new, hand-woven, wall-to-wall carpeting. The colour palate is light and subdued, with tones of grey-blue, cream and gold. The furniture has been sourced from all over the world, with several pieces specially designed for the suite. Moreover, a large portrait of Princess Lilian by the artist Fabian Edelstam further highlights the connection to the suite’s namesake.
Behind the refurbishment of the Princess Lilian suite is interior designer Sanna Nathanson, who has headed up previous room renovation projects at the Grand Hôtel.
