On April 8, 2015, Dior Homme showed its Winter 2015 collection in Guangzhou. After Beijing in 2013 and Shanghai in 2014, this third international runway was presented in the city’s opera house. This landmark site, combining beauty and innovation, has been built by world acclaimed british architect and Pritzker Prize winner, Zaha Hadid.

The Dior Homme show was the first event of its kind held in this building. The opera house is located next to the new museum of the Guangdong’s province, a link between the arts dear to Kris Van Assche, artistic director of Dior Homme.

The theme of the collection, ”Opening Night and Day Dreaming” echoed the place and its landscaped surroundings. Hence an innovative and unique scenario, building bridges between the heritage and modernity of Dior Homme and contemporary China.

As international and chinese models walked the runway together, 40 musicians of Guangzhou symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Roussel, played live the original soundtrack composed by Koudlam.

The composer attended the show as a surprise to the 600 guests of Dior Homme. The guest list included international and chinese medias, VIPs and celebrities. ”It was a privilege to return to China with our runway

show. As this collection plays with codes of a technosartorial elegance, showing it in Guangzhou puts it in a new
perspective. It enhances my work on modernity and heritage as well as my research on plurality and individuality. Building a contemporary allure is an on going process : each of my experiences in China strengthen this process”. declared Kris Van Assche, artistic director of Dior Homme.
