Howsty Brings Spring to the Southern Hemisphere
The ethnically inspired Spanish shoe and accessories brand arrives in Australia and New Zealand with its latest collection.
Howstyhas ridden the wave of success with their boho chic items all the way to Oceania. They’ve made strident steps forward with their ethnic boots and accessories for women, providing a diversified look for every season. Furthermore their collections are committed to socially conscious fashion. Howsty, named after the acronym ‘Helping Others With STYle,”repurposes handcrafted products like Moroccan kilim rugs and traditional Indian fabrics.
The Madrid-based company founded in 2012 by Silvia Gómez de la Mata and Sandra Mirat has thus developed an intelligent, sustainable and profitable business model. It has established a presence in a total of 19 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, plus the United States, where the company confirms that the brand is being welcomed warmly.
Keep in mind that the brand entered the US market through the Urban Outfitters group. It’s now created an alliance with Spanish shoe distributor Zapatito to enter the markets of Australia and New Zealand with its spring-summer 2016 collection, which they showed at local trade shows such as Life Instyle.
With their sights set on Japan, where they hope to expand their presence, and as they look into ways of dropping anchor in Canada and Central America, the brand is also flirting with the idea of opening a flagship store where they can showcase their full catalog of shoes and accessories, as well as their new home decoration line, House&Home. For the time being, Howsty has its own online stores and shows its collections at the FFANY and Capsule trade shows in New York; and Magic, Sole Commerce and FN Flatform in Las Vegas. In Europe, it participates in MICAM (Milan), Who’s Next (Paris), GDS (Düsseldorf) and Premium (Berlin).
