The Return of Oversized Bags!

One of the biggest trends over the last few season were small bags, basically mini versions of each label’s classics. Thousands of designs parading on the catwalks and designers putting all their effort into bags of this kind. They’re cute but only serve to carry around your daily basics.

For those of you who like to be bang on trend there’s some good news, because oversized bags are back, or so it seems. At Paris Fashion Week recently, one of the most influential in the world, much larger bags were on show, especially shoulder bags, something basic that many people had been asking for.  Of course, there’s a slight issue with some types of bags, such as shoulder bags, because in maxi form they can be a bit cumbersome to carry around. Clutches are getting bigger, shoppers are getting bigger, backpacks are getting bigger… everything’s getting bigger!

Remember the proposal that Louis Vuitton surprised us with a few years back with their Petite Malle model, a mini trunk that has become the label’s signature icon. It has become the crowning glory of many wardrobes but you can only fit in your phone and credit cards. For Autumn/Winter 2016/2017 we’re going to see a much larger version.

The same thing happened to the Fendi Peekaboo. Since it was launched in a mini version, extraordinary designs and proposals have been presented in this size, leaving aside the larger version. For next season, the giant model takes centre stage with combinations of textures and vibrant colours. So after several years, the trend of oversized bags is here again! Invest in one of them.
