The Dream Collection by Lanyu

Lanyu unveiled its vintage collection during Paris Haute Couture Week in Jan. 2016, just a few months after the wedding dress designer announced the release of Lanyu Gowns, a ready-to-wear product line, by a promotional video on the large screen that overlooks New York’sTimes Square.

Now the new collection-dream made an appearance, five years after previous show in China, at Shanghai Fashion Week as the first show, which was highly acclaimed by guests as usual. Lanyu presented the new collection at New York International Bridal Week in April, 2016, which comes on the heels of the collection’s debut at Shanghai Fashion Week.

The Dream collection maintains Lanyu’s romanticism and highlights femininity. Lanyu’s designer Lan Yu was inspired by Hollywood actresses’ legends of the 1920s and continues with the theme of vintage collection, an Haute Couture show, to create perfect wedding dresses that women are dreaming of by using splendid brocades and elegant paillettes. This also explains why the collection is named Dream.

The main color of this season, pearl white, champagne gold and pale pink, coupled with a print design brings a romantic feeling. The new collection reinterprets tassels, three-dimensional flowers, sparkling rhinestones and other fashion elements from the Hollywood’s golden age.
