Amyris Enters in the Consumer Beauty Market

The company is delivering its No Compromise® products in focused markets, including specialty and performance chemicals, fragrance ingredients, and cosmetic emollients. And now they are launching their first ever consumer beauty brand, Biossance.

Biossance The Revitalizer is a multi-purpose skin care product that is dermatologist tested, paraben-free, noncomedogenic, hypoallergenic, and suitable for all skin types. They said that the skin’s beauty relies on vital moisturizers found in the human body, one of which is squalane.

The product is made exclusively of Amyris’s Neossance® squalane derived from sustainable sugarcane, making it a natural choice that is highly effective for dry skin patches and can be used on cuticles, as a make-up booster and as a hair serum for added shine. According to research conducted by Amyris, 95 percent of women who have tried the product agreed that their skin felt instantly hydrated, and 95 percent agreed their skin appeared softer and smoother after just one week.
