Whether anyone has doubts about the strength of Calvin Klein´s policy to start a new stage should no longer harbor any. The owner of the company (the Phillips-Van Heusen Group) has set a central point in its strategy: to unify all the group’s brands under a single creative vision. This involved many changes including the exit of some of its historical figures. Speculations have been confirmed and the exits are just announced. Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli, creative directors of women and men fashion, respectively, leave Calvin Klein after more than a decade at the top of their respective departments.
It is not announced yet who can be the substitute that brings together all the creative direction of the company, although several media designated as favorite to Raf Simmons, who left Christian Dior in October last year. In any case, Simmons has a non-compete clause with the owner of Dior, LVMH, until July this year, so if Simmons is the real elected, that means that the position will be empty for a few months.
Doubts also assail the two most successful divisions of the firm in the last decade, Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear, which are responsibility of Kevin Carrigan. So far the company has assured that no changes will occur in those divisions, although it remains to see if definitively this is confirmed, as Carrigan has become an indisputable part of the international success of Calvin Klein
