New Appointment at Shiseido

Shiseido Co., Ltd announced the appointment of Roxana Daver as Senior Vice President, Global Business Development and Coordination of Shiseido Co., Ltd. effective September 1st, 2015. Last December, Shiseido announced its mid-to-long term strategy, “VISION 2020,” under which the matrix operation will be started based on the brand axis and regional axis composed of the five types of brand business. The regional headquarters system is also to be introduced in six regions including Travel Retail Business.

Under this system, the Company will practice a «Think Global, Act Local» strategy focused on cultivating each brand based on region and market specific needs, while also accelerating decision making and product development in each region. As Shiseido moves ahead with the matrix organization and shifts empowerment to the regions, Daver will assist Masahiko Uotani, President and CEO of Shiseido Co., Ltd. in coordinating the overall global business operations of our six regions. Specifically, she will provide the regions’ support and coordination with the Headquarters in the development of operational strategies that will be incorporated into our business plans.

She will also assume a leading role for certain specialized global projects, for example key account development, a geographic area development strategy and other projects. Uotani stated, “Roxana’s in-depth global knowledge in prestige cosmetics and fragrances, multi-cultural & multi-linguistic capabilities including Japanese and her warm and friendly personality make her perfectly suited to helping us drive our rejuvenation efforts and build One Shiseido globally.”
