At a special event at the OMEGA boutique in Madrid, President of OMEGA, Mr. Stephen Urquhart, presented the Globemaster to a selection of VIP guests. Tested at the industry’s highest level, this first Master Chronometer timepiece represents the start of a new era in precision for the Swiss watchmaker.
During the evening, guests mingled and enjoyed refreshments in the stylish surroundings of OMEGA’s Madrid boutique, while contemplating and admiring the selection of Globemaster models on display.
In December 2014, OMEGA announced – together with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) – a rigorous new level of testing, which measures the performance of both the watch and mechanical movement over 10 days. This includes exposing the watch to strong magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. Only watches tested and approved under this strict new process can be called a Master Chronometer.
Style wise, the Globemaster draws its inspiration from earlier Constellation models and features a striking pie-pan dial and fluted bezel.
