Carlsberg is celebrating its unique history with the re-launch of six of their its vintage labels, each telling a story of how the Danish beer company has been a first-mover in everything from long beards to international shipping.

From the creators of the pH scale and the first pure brewer’s yeast, the company that donates significant proportions of its earnings to support science, art and culture through the Carlsberg Foundation, and the company for whom phrases like “Open-Source” and “Corporate Social Responsibility” were part of the vocabulary centuries ago…

Yes, we are talking about Carlsberg. The Danish brewer is celebrating its unique history with the launch of a Vintage Label beer collection with six of its iconic old labels, eachoffering a celebration of Carlsberg’s rich heritage. Each one tells its own story, like when Carlsberg placed a ship on its labels to avoid bootleggers – way before piracy was a phenomenon. Or when individual brewers’ names were put on the labels in a true spirit of co-creation.

These are probably the best-looking beer labels you have ever seen. The six Vintage Label bottles will contain unique stories, that are also coming to life in a series of irreverent 15-second films, beginning with the infamous social media meme “Meanwhile in…”. While the tone is classic Carlsberg humour, one should not be fooled, ; this is a company that is always striving to do better. Crafting better beer, while creating a better society.

As part of the initiative, Carlsberg is inviting media and creative influencers to celebrate the Vintage Labels, manifested in a myriad of creative ways. The Vintage Labels will be launched and celebrated in Sweden, Italy, Poland, Switzerland and Portugal.
