Dakota Johnson in Ibiza

This summer, for the first time, ESTRELLA DAMM, the beer of Barcelona, is going to produce a film that will be distributed in June. Aiming for the international market, the brand has signed as lead actress Dakota Johnson, who recently starred in 50 Shades of Grey.

In its cinema premiere, ESTRELLA DAMM partners with the director Alejandro Amenábar, who won an Academy Award for his film The Sea Inside. The Spanish-Chilean filmmaker, who worked with Nicole Kidman in The Others(2001), will be back to the movie theatres in October with his thriller Regression, starring Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke.

Ibiza and Barcelona are the chosen locations to narrate Rachel’s story, a tourist played by Johnson who arrives at the island and establishes a friendship with a group of friends from Barcelona who spend the summer there. The filming started on April 29th. The short film premiere will be in mid-June, but there is no confirmation of an exact date yet.

Natalia Tena (known for her role in the TV series Game of Thrones, in the Harry Potter movies saga and for her lead role in 10,000 km) and Quim Gutiérrez (Easy Sex, Sad Movies, Dark Blue Almost Black, Cousinhood or The Last Days amongst others) will perform two of the friends Dakota meets in the island.
