60 high profile celebrities have joined the campaign to Save the Arctic. Right now, their photos are on display on the London Underground, near Shell’s HQ. Shell could start drilling for oil in the beautiful Arctic in a matter of days.
The photos – shot by world renowned celebrity photographer Andy Gotts MBE – see them wearing original t-shirts designed fashion icon Vivienne Westwood.
If you take a trip through London Waterloo underground station this week, you won’t fail to spot Greenpeace’s Save the Arctic campaign lining the escalators.
Launched yesterday and on display until Sunday 26th July, the exhibition comprises of 60 muted colour portraits of celebrities shot over a period of eighteen months by award-winning photographer Andy Gotts MBE.
Each person in the campaign is wearing a Vivienne Westwood Save the Arctic organic unbleached cotton t-shirt and all profits from the t-shirts go directly to Greenpeace.
The exhibition aims to raise awareness for the protection of the unique and fragile Arctic and is situated along the escalators leading up to the London HQ of oil company Shell, who are due to start drilling in the Arctic this month.
To launch the campaign, Vivienne enlisted the help of Leebo Freeman and Sadie Frost sporting their own Save the Arctic t-shirts along with photographer Andy Gotts. Taking a few trips up and down the escalators, checking out the portraits and posing for a few pictures themselves, heads turned as the morning commute became a lot more interesting.
