The couturier’s first collection with MTNG Experience is now available from his website and the physical shop on Madrid’s chic ‘Golden Mile’. Last spring, Hannibal Laguna and MTNG Experience, owner of Sixtyseven, Mariamare, Mustang, Estefanía Marco and Cheiw, announced a deal to develop footwear and accessories for the fashion designer, who has both and prêt-à-couture collections.
The new brand has set out to be “exclusive, accessible and 100% made in Spain”. Its “First Collection” for Autumn/Winter 2015-16 is a faithful extension to the exquisite expertise and glamorous style for which Laguna is known.
Hannibal Laguna Shoes & Accessories is aimed at sophisticated, urban and cosmopolitan women, and ranges from minimalist ballet pumps to flat moccasins inspired by men’s shoes, salon shoes and ankle boots with ultra-feminine silhouettes, as well as versatile clutch bags and 24/7 wallets.
Launched in Spain on the online shop on 28 September, shoeshanniballaguna.com, it made its debut two days later at the designer’s exclusive shop at 58, Calle Claudio Coello in the heart of Madrid’s chic Salamanca neighbourhood.
After almost 50 years in the trade and with turnover worth more than € 72 mill., MTNG Experience is now taking the project worldwide. It has already showcased the 70s-inspired Spring/Summer 2016 collection at major exhibitions in Madrid, Tokyo, Las Vegas, Milan and Paris.
A more starring role has been reserved for bags in this second season, which also includes party and bridal outfits. Since he made his debut in 1987, Hannibal Laguna has presented more than 100 catwalk collections, with sophisticated total looks that offer a new luxury experience and femininity at its most exquisite.
