NYUEF is back

In the past few decades, NYU has established itself as a hub for entrepreneurship. NYU is proud to call companies like Def Jam Records, Etsy, Foursquare and Pinterest successful products of our alumni, who in turn are successful products of NYU. NYU has a few things no other university has such as the newly opened Leslie eLab, which is home to a cohort of early stage startups, and the NYU Entrepreneurs Festival which celebrates the past, present and future of entrepreneurship at NYU and beyond. With 1000+ attendees, the festival is the largest student entrepreneurship event in the country. This year it will be held on March 6 and 7.

In the past, the festival has featured startup stars like Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter; Dennis Crowley, co-founder of Foursquare; Herb Kelleher, co-founder of Southwest Airlines; and Fred Wilson, managing partner of Union Square Ventures and more. With three keynotes including the co-founder and long time CEO of Seamless (the unofficial sponsor of the NYU student’s stomach), this year’s festival is one not to be missed. Other keynotes include Mark Leslie, of Leslie Ventures and Jonathan Wolfson of Solazyme. In addition to the three keynotes, the festival also has six entrepreneurship panels, six workshops, 24 roundtables, and a party. The festival will also showcase current student and alumni startups that have just begun their journey in the world of 21st century economics and social power.

The event is also introducing the first ever Hashathon, an Idea Prototyping Challenge where entrants come up with “innovative solutions to help new college entrants ease their transition into the Big Apple”.  The Festival is organized by the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute, NYU Entrepreneurs Network and the NYU Stern Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. The Core NYUEF team is made up of members of the Entrepreneurial Institute as well as students from across all years, degree levels and schools at the university.

The Entrepreneurs Festival aims to bring together NYU’s rich, diverse and scattered entrepreneurship community in a celebration of startups, products, companies and ideas.
