Xnowmate gets ISPO Award in Germany

Young Spanish brand Xnowmate has brought its first sales season to a very successful conclusion. Every year, the ISPO exhibition held in Munich honours exceptional sports items with its ISPO Awards, which have become a hallmark of the sports industry. Of the 445 products submitted on this occasion, the award went to Xnowmate Smart Boots, totally designed and manufactured in Spain. Folding, lightweight, waterproof and warm, they can be used anytime, anywhere as a substitute for traditional après-ski boots.

Xnowmate boots have a thin, non-slip rubber sole and three smart layers: Cordura, Thinsulate and a Texalive membrane, designed to give stability, flexibility, waterproofing, warmth and comfort. They weigh just 584 g and can be folded to fit inside a small neoprene backpack. Painstaking biomechanics research went into developing a unisex system of just five sizes (S-XXL).

«Get the chill out!” is the rousing cry behind the products sold on the company website, www.xnowmate.com, and at specialist stores in Spain:  a play on words, it combines the idea of “warming up” with “enjoyment and having fun”. It has already pulled in its first orders from Germany, Switzerland, France, UK, USA and Italy after its debut at the current edition of ISPO, which runs in Munich until 8 February. Now, Xnowmate aspires to extend its distribution network to other markets with a winter sports tradition, like Canada and Japan, as well as emerging regions in Eastern Europe.
