The newly updated «food pyramid» recommends that Americans amp up their daily intake of fruits and vegetables, not an easy task for busy families or veggie haters. The new Novis Vita Juicer from Switzerland turns uneaten veggies into vitamin-packed juice so even the vegetable-averse can get their minimum required 2.5 cups of vegetables and 1.5 cups of fruits every day.
The concept is simple. Instead of eating veggies, the Novis Vita Juicer makes it easy to drink them. One glass of juice or one bowl of soup made from fresh vegetables gives individuals a huge nutrient-packed energy boost.
«Getting nutrients daily from the food we eat is very important for our health,» says Amy Gorin, MS, RDN, a registered dietitian nutritionist in New Jersey. «Using the Novis Vita Juicer to juice or puree vegetables for beverages and soups is a simple and sure-fire way to consume more of these nutrients. An example, the new2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that adults consume 75 to 90 milligrams of immunity-helping vitamin C daily. A cup of soup made from fresh fruits or veggies can provide up to 20 percent of that, and a cup of juice can provide more than 100 percent.»
The Novis Vita Juice fully extracts all of the vitamin-rich juice from fruits and vegetables including leafy greens such as kale and spinach giving people more nutrient–bang from the dollars spent at the grocery store.
There is a chorus of nutritionists who encourage juicing and the new trend, souping. According to Daniella Chace, MS, CN, clinical nutritionist, educator and author of 20+ nutrition books, «There is no quicker way to increase protective antioxidant carotenoid levels in the blood than drinking juices made from carotenoid-rich foods, such as greens, carrots, and watermelon.»
